The London Festival of Architecture in full swing
The London Festival of Architecture, launched in 2004, is Europe’s biggest annual architectural festival. From June 1st to 30th 2017, hundreds of events will be organized in the capital city, with a focus on memory. According to Thamsie Thomson, the festival’s director : “London’s built memories are never far from its present – living on in old place names, the City of London’s medieval street pattern, or London’s rich architectural heritage”. Conferences, exhibits, installations, open studios, debates, walks and tours, family workshops are scheduled on an almost daily basis. Here are some of the events scheduled :
“The Thames is liquid history” – Urban design workshop in the office of PDP Architects, Saturday June 17th at 10 am
“HÛT in the clouds” – Installation / audio visual exhibition in the studios of HÛT, Saturday June 17th at 11 am
“Once there was a church” – Journey amongst the ruins of the city’s churches, Sunday 18th June at 11 am
