An army of survivors
We regularly refer to the Spanish scene as a mix of inventiveness, attention to detail and local relevance. What is the basis of this model? When asked by L’Architecture d’Aujourd’hui, local observers, critics and architects emphasize that, in Spain, architectural quality is closely connected to the technical skills of its architects. Trained also with sufficient skills to design even details usually entrusted to engineers – the Colegios Oficiales de Arquitectos (Regional orders of architects) monitor compliance with these principles – Spanish architects are real builders in charge of their projects from start to finish.
