What’s new : Corinne Vezzoni & Associés
Corinne Vezzoni has made a name for herself from Marseille. Sometimes the times we’re in prefer us to recognise the woman who’s an architect over the architect alone. The gender question can spoil our appreciation of an art, but Corinne Vezzoni strives to defend a Mediterranean school.
Except that success is taking her away from the shores of the beautiful blue Med, with its maquis and craggy slopes. For three years now her practice has been finding itself being selected in Paris. She won the latest competitions for the Grand Paris Express stations at Satory and Rosny-Bois Perrier. She is also completing Le Thémis, an office building at the foot of the Paris High Court designed by RPBW. She doesn’t feel that these visible sites and exceptional orders call for exuberance. Remaining loyal to her ideal, that’s how this architect is keeping it pertinent and measured.
