Non-standard construction for virtuous standardisation
conversation hosted by Emmanuelle Borne or Clémentine Roland

Building on existing structures, on what’s already there, rather than destroying and rebuilding—in other words, preferring transformation to new construction wherever possible; but also combining tradition and modernity by, for example, mixing raw clay and concrete to create architecture that’s both contemporary and local at the same time; becoming a promoter to get out of the box as an architect; basically, freeing ourselves from standards to design new models, of truly virtuous architecture that responds to needs and to a territory as much as to a commission: that’s the challenge facing today’s architects and the guests at this round-table discussion hosted by AA.

With:
– Tarik Oualalou (Oualalou+Choi)
– Anne Pezzoni (archi5)
– Nissim Haguenauer (Plan Común)
– Jules Eymard (Compagnie architecture)

Converting offices into housing: what conditions, what impact?
conversation hosted by Anastasia de Villepin

In 2024, a law aimed at facilitating the conversion of offices into housing was adopted on first reading by the French Senate. The demand for housing is so urgent (according to INSEE and the French Ministry of Housing, between 350,000 and 400,000 new homes need to be built every year) that policymakers finally seem to be going the way of architects. For the architects, the issue has the advantage of containing a number of challenges: reinventing housing typologies, going beyond regulations, rehabilitating existing buildings, etc. These are just some of the issues that the guests at this panel discussion will be exploring, with projects in hand.

With:
– Anne-Charlotte Zanassi (Atelier Philéas)
– Nicolas Croixmarie or Thomas Bourdon (croixmariebourdon architectes associés)
– Manuelle Gautrand (Manuelle Gautrand Architecture)
