KAAI 37, a passive housing block in Antwerp
In the framework of AA 425th issue, discover in pictures a passive housing block, recently completed in Eilandje harbor district, in Antwerp, Belgium, by a team of emblematic Belgian offices.
Architecture offices META, advvt, noAarchitecten and OFFICE shared the design management of the block’s South side buildings, while the Northern part was designed by POLO Architects, PULS architects, Vermeiren – De Coster Architects et cuypers & Q architects.
The project is composed of 72 apartments and duplex apartments, 5 houses and 4 commercial spaces, organised around an internal garden. It is the first step of a passive grouped residences certified by the scientific research organisation Pixii, which dealing, among others, with zero-energy construction.
