Maison & Objet Projets. 3 questions to Nicolas Thermed
Could you present us your activity?
I tell stories.
Each project is a story that we build around a concept, an idea, and materials and lights help us materialize these stories.
We want the client to feel like he is immersed in a special universe.
You have been collaborating with Wonderwall Studios, which is participating to this year’s Maison & Objets Projets edition. Could you tell us about your relationship and the beginning of your collaboration?
Our collaboration began last year when I discovered Wonderwall Studios’s products.
I loved the idea of using wood in a contemporary and graphic way.
The patterns that we used for our last hotel project (Mercure Hotel in Blois, France) for instance, are perfectly designed to tell the story of its new aspect: chic, raw and contemporary at the same time. A story that begins in an artisan’s atelier.
Why did you choose Wonderwall Studios among all the other brands you could have worked with?
I chose to work with Wonderwall Studios because I think we share the same vision of “creation”. All their patterns have a name, a strong identity and a unique visual effect. I find that I can work with Wonderwall Studios again and again without ever getting bored. The collections are so eclectic that I always get the impression I am living an entirely new experience, project after project.
