Space reversability at 1111 Lincoln Road
The 1111 Lincoln Road building is one of Herzog & de Meuron’s emblematic projects. As Paul Goldberger, architectural critic of The New Yorker magazine, puts it: “This project starts with the recognition that the car is here in Miami, for better or for worse. And so, let’s not keep try to hide it, let’s make the most of it, […] lets use it, as the generator of a whole different kind of architectural experience in the city.” Here is an innovative architectural response in the shape of a parking lot able to bring all kind of uses together: commercial spaces, restaurants and even a private residence. Learn more about this project in AA’s 416 issue devoted to Mixed-uses, published in December 2016.
